All Words (and Images) Have Meaning
It's no accident that the first action of dictators and would-be dictators is to ban books, literature and speech.
"You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police. Yet in their hearts there is unspoken--unspeakable!--fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts! Words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home, all the more powerful because they are forbidden. These terrify them. - Winston Churchill
Words can create understanding or incite action. Words hold our history and words created Game of Thrones. Words can be expressions of love or expressions of frightening hate.
"Words--so innocent and powerless as they are, as standing in a dictionary, how potent for good and evil they become, in the hands of one who knows how to combine them!" - Nathaniel Hawthorne
Words have power and meaning. We believe that what you say and the individual words used broadcast volumes about your product or service, company and mission. At FatDawgs, we believe that all content, training, advertising, web and proposals, should be crafted using carefully selected words to provide the intended impact. We believe that content should be clear, concise and accurate. And we strive to create an experience for the reader.
"My task, which I am trying to achieve is, by the power of the written word, to make you hear, to make you feel--it is, before all, to make you see." -Joseph Conrad
As much as we love words, we also believe in the well-thought out use of images, to include photographs, diagrams, and drawings. There are a lot of studies and numbers that promote the value of using images:
- Almost 50% of our brains are involved in visual processing. And 70% of our sensory receptors are in our eyes.
- People following directions with illustrations do 323 percent better than those following text directions alone. - Effects of Text Illustrations: A Review of Research by W. Howard Levie and Richard Lentz
- People only remember 10 percent of what they hear after three days, but if a relevant image is paired with that same information, retention goes up to 65%. - Brain Rules by John Medina
We'd love to help you craft more compelling and impactful content using both words, images, and the treasured third pillar, whitespace.
